We are so glad you’re interested in visiting theCross! We want to make your experience as smooth and welcoming as possible. Below are some common questions guests often have, along with helpful answers.
1. What time are your services? Our Sunday services begin at 10 AM. We also open the sanctuary from 9:15 - 9:45 AM for those who would like to come in and find a quiet place to pray.
2. Where is the church located? We are located at 3253 North Brush College Road in Decatur (across the street from Richland Community College). Parking is available on-site, and our friendly volunteers will help direct you when you arrive.
3. What should I wear? Come as you are! Most people dress casually. Jeans and t-shirts are welcome.
4. What happens during the service? A typical service lasts about an hour and a half and includes worship music, prayer, and a Bible-based message. If you’re new, feel free to observe and participate at your own comfort level.
5. Is there something for my kids? Absolutely! Our Kids Ministry meets weekly during the Sunday morning service. CrossKids Jr. is for children from birth thru preschool. CrossKids is for elementary age students from kindergarten thru 6th grade.
Our Teen Ministry meets on the 1st and 3rd Sundays during the morning service in Classroom 2. CrossTeens is for students from 7th thru 12th grade.
We are confident that your children will enjoy a safe and fun environment designed just for them.
6. Will I be singled out as a guest? Not at all! We won’t ask you to stand or do anything that might make you uncomfortable. If you're willing, we'd love for you to stop by our Connect Desk, fill out a Connect Card, and meet our hospitality team. As a thank-you for visiting, we’ll even make a donation to a community partner of your choice in your honor.
7. How can I get involved or learn more? Stop by our Connect Desk in the lobby to pick up a free booklet that will guide you through your Next Steps at theCross. You can also visit the Information Kiosk by the front doors, where you can sign up for water baptism, child dedication, and various ministry opportunities.
